Description

Paparwark Furniture is based on a croft called West Lynne.

Cecil runs his family croft with his brother James and they are the 6th generation to croft in Ireland, Bigton. It is comprised of several crofts in the South mainland where they have 150 ewes and 50 hens. We sell free range eggs from outside the farmhouse and now have some of our wool spun into high quality yarn.

The tour starts at 2pm from the farmhouse, from there you will go on a very scenic coastal walk with stunning views of St Ninian’s Isle and a wide range of local wildlife to observe. On this walk you will visit the flock of Shetland sheep with various ancient colours. You can also have a chance to hand feed the friendly animals.

Once we return to the farmhouse you will then be able to have a tour of the Paparwark Furniture workshop and Showroom where we make bespoke furniture, wood gifts and  various knitting accessories for knitwear enthusiasts. We also have fleeces and yarn spun from our flock of sheep for sale. You will also be given refreshments of tea coffee and home bakes.

The weather in Shetland can change quickly so please wear appropriate clothing.

Tours start at 10am and last for approximately 2 hours.
