Description

A clean, functional project that builds confidence in small‑scale furniture making

Create a beautifully simple wooden bookshelf designed to sit on a desk, windowsill, or bedside table. This workshop guides learners through the satisfying process of turning plain timber into a well‑proportioned, practical piece that brings order and warmth to any workspace.

The design is straightforward and approachable, making it ideal for beginners while still offering enough detail to engage more experienced makers. Participants will learn how to measure accurately, cut and fit basic joints, shape components, and assemble a sturdy structure that feels both modern and timeless.

By the end of the session, each maker will leave with a handcrafted bookshelf ready to hold favourite books, notebooks, or treasured objects — a small piece of furniture that brings daily pleasure and a sense of accomplishment.
